Tripura is a state in northeast India and its capital is Agartala. With an area of 10,486 km, it is divided into 8 districts. The principle mountain ranges of Tripura are Sakha Telang, Langtarai, Athra Mura and Bara Mura.
Agriculture is the main occupation of the population of the state. The main crops are paddy, wheat, jute, sugarcane, potato, turmeric, coconut and oil seeds. Handloom weaving is the largest industry in Tripura. Bamboo craft also contributes greatly to the economy of the state.
